Through games of Jan. 8, Bays ranked 26th in the NCAA in rebounding, averaging 10.6. She's 10th in defensive rebounding, averaging eight per outing. In the Big Ten, Bays is averaging 17.4 points and 11 rebounds per game. Also, Bays is averaging 8.8 rebounds per game in her Boilermaker career, and is only three games from being eligible for Purdue's career records list. Cathy Tyree currently holds the career record, av - eraging 7.4 boards per game from 1984-87. MORE ON MOORE Early last week, Versyp commented for the first time on the indefinite suspension from team activities of fresh- man Erica Moore. The ninth-year coach, however, didn't have a lot to say. "Not really going to com- ment on that," Versyp said. "She just needs to get a lot done (to get back in good graces)." Moore has played in only four games this season, playing eight minutes.
