GROUNDSPERSON Based in Horsham, Christ's Hospital is a unique co-educational boarding school and charitable Foundation, which provides first class education for up to 860 children from all backgrounds, supported by over 400 members of staff. We are looking to appoint a qualified, experienced Groundsperson to join our team responsible for maintenance of the school's extensive grounds and playing fields. Salary circa £18,500, according to experience. This is a year round, full time role. Hours of work are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30 am to 2:45 pm on Friday (37.5 hours per week) Previous grounds work experience is essential. Applicants should also hold Level 2 National / Scottish Vocational Qualifications in both Horticulture and Sports Turf Maintenance, or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge gained through experience. Other recognised qualifications in one or more of the following: strimming; hedgecutting; ride-on mowing and tractor driving would be an advantage, as would a chainsaw certificate. A clean current driving licence is essential. We currently have a vacancy in Scotland for a self-motivated and practically minded individual to join our expanding team of multi-skilled operatives carrying out our full range of maintenance processes to the extremely high standards set. Key duties will also involve synthetic carpet repairs, infill top ups/removal and other maintenance operations. St Albans School Woollam Trust is looking to recruit a skilled Groundsman to join our team in maintaining and improving the playing surfaces of its extensive and prestigious multi-sport facility. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the preparation of Summer and Winter sports pitches to the highest standards. In addition they will be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Sports Turf Maintenance (or equivalent), have NPTC: PA1, PA6, PA2 and a valid Driving License. You must have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own using your own initiative. The position is full time 40 hours per week Monday to Friday (some weekend work will be required). The appointment will be conditional on receipt of a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and the person appointed will be required to work in accordance with the School's Policy for Child Protection.
