His pledge to the Bulldogs came as a bit of a surprise to every- one, including his family. "We didn't go down there think- ing he was going to commit," said Eason's father, Tony. "We were just going to go down there and check it out, although Georgia had done the best job of recruiting him to that point. "Coach [Mike] Bobo came out twice, and we knew Jacob was their No. 1 guy. Some of these teams will offer four, five or six guys. Georgia wasn't like that. Jacob knew going into this that Georgia had him as their top guy." Bobo, however, is no longer at Georgia. He is now the head coach at Colorado State after Jim McElwain left to become the head coach at the University of Florida. McElwain then added quarterbacks coach and of- fensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier to his Gators staff after he left Michi- gan in the wake of Brady Hoke being fired. O f c o u r s e , M i c h i g a n r e - placed Hoke with big-name head coach Jim Har- baugh. Eason is still committed to Georgia, but now says that Florida and Michigan are both places he's intrigued by after the coaching car- ousel has slowed down a bit. It has sort of all come full circle. He has named a top three of Geor- gia, Florida and Michigan, and the Harbaugh hire is something that has gotten his attention. "That is a crazy opportunity with Harbaugh coaching at Michigan," Eason said. "There is a really good class coming in at Georgia too, though, so we'll just wait and see." Eason is keeping his options open. "It all depends who Georgia brings in," he said. "If they bring in someone that wants a dual-threat quarterback and is going to change the offense, then I may look into other things. I doubt that will happen, though." — Brandon Brown Elite Quarterback Is Intrigued By Jim Harbaugh ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Lake Stevens High School Lake Stevens, Wash.
