Harbaugh's Coaching Record New Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh didn't spend a whole lot of time bouncing from stop to stop as an assistant coach, like many who rise through the ranks. Aside from a two-year stint as a quarterbacks coach for the Oak- land Raiders (2002-03), and seven years of work as a volunteer assistant for his dad, Jack Harbaugh, at Western Kentucky (1994-2001), the younger Har- baugh has always been a head coach.
