24 Issue 71 / 2015 DNB guestlist.net The latest offering from KJah is another telling sign that classic drum and bass is making a marked resurgence in the modern musical landscape. This EP oozes white- label dub plate and reeks of high grade. Starting with the title track Jabber Jaw, a classic jump up track with a focus on a beefy bassline, sporting a familiar but always thrilling tone. Mixed with the cartoon samples this song emcompasses how much fun good dnb should be. The next track "Gassed to the Max" harks back to the classic dark jungle vibes of the mid 1990s, a motif filtering through to the next track "Show Me Your Love", which mixes the jump up vibes of the title track with the old school samples of its predecessor and culminates in a wonderfully uplifting track. A great EP for DJ's and bassheads alike. . Album of the month KJAh - JAbber JAw eP KJah is back with an EP that lets us know drum and bass is not about to be left behind just yet Album of the yeAr Silence Groove Progressive trance meets Drum and Bass Silence Groove is essentially a progressive trance artist who has stumbled into drum and bass. Early offerings from the Polish DJ are expansive and interesting, see 'Shiny Snow' the first rude essay of an 18 year old. With the 'Eat Me Softly' EP however Silence Groove found that a more rhythmic, measured approach actually counterpoints the flowing progressive texture of previous releases and allows space for melody, which comes in a fairly typical piano- led format. The most recent iteration of this blending is 'Reflection', a single released on Soul Deep. This record has a heavy rhythmic element but still manages to blend a pulsing, glowing background with drifting vocals in the foreground.
