Thank You Prairie Island Indian Community! Minnesota Hockey and Minnesota Disabled Hockey would like to say thank you to the Prairie Island Indian Community. Prairie Island continues to be a tremendous supporter of youth and disabled hockey programs in Minnesota. The Prairie Island Indian Community has been involved with program sales at Minnesota Wild games since the 2008-09 season, supporting community-based associations throughout the state. Over the last five years, they have also made significant donations to Minnesota Disabled Hockey, helping it become the largest hockey program for people with disabilities in the nation. Prairie Island Indian Community has played a major role in making it possible for every person in Minnesota, regardless of disability, to play hockey. Thank you for assuring that hockey in Minnesota is for everyBODY! Chevy Wishes Youth Teams Good Luck on Drive to State The Select Heartland Chevy Dealers of Minnesota are excited for another season as the presenting partners of the Minnesota Hockey Region and State Tournaments. With "The Drive to State powered by Chevy," Select Heartland Chevy Dealers play a key role in the signature events of youth hockey in Minnesota. "Like the rest of the hockey players and families in Minnesota, we are very excited for the most thrilling time of the hockey season — State Tournament time," said Daniel J. Raduenz, President of the Select Heartland Chevy Dealers of Minnesota. "We wish all of those teams competing for a spot at a Minnesota Hockey State Tournament the best of luck on their Drive to State!" Additionally, several youth hockey clinics will be held over the course of the year to provide more hockey players the opportunity to work on skills at no cost to their families. Select Heartland Chevy Dealers will be a supporting partner of the Minnesota Hockey Hard Ice Divider program which assists associations in enhancing cross-ice hockey games. Youth Coaches Recognized for Excellence Minnesota Hockey, in partnership with Park Dental and the Minnesota Wild, hosted nearly 60 coaches for the Coaching Excellence Award program in Saint Paul this December. The coaches were recognized for their dedication to youth hockey and provided with the opportunity to watch a Minnesota Wild practice, meet head coach Mike Yeo and have lunch at Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub. "These coaches give so much of their time, family and work time, to come out and work with these kids, so they probably don't get thanked enough," said Minnesota Hockey Executive Director Glen Andresen. "This is a way to recognize them, and they seem to enjoy this day." Players, parents, officials and other coaches can now nominate coaches for the 2015 Coaching Excellence Award.
