BASKETBALL RECRUITING bor for Michigan's overtime win over Illinois Dec. 30 in which the Wolver- ines rallied from 15 down. "I like the offense Coach [John] Beilein runs," Langford said. "That's a young team, and Coach Beilein and his staff didn't expect anything but toughness, and that's a tough team. They were down 15 and could have given up, but didn't. They kept play- ing and got the win." Florida head coach Billy Donovan made him feel welcome on his visit to Gainesville, he added, while he also got to tour the campus at Michi- gan State. Alabama and Auburn are among the other schools involved. "First of all, I'm looking at educa- tion," he said. "Like they say, this is a 40-year decision, not a four-year decision. It's going to stay with you for your whole life. As far as a team, I look at what kind of players they're recruiting. I want to play with other good guys like me, and I don't think you can win without character. I want to see how a coach can get me to be a better player, give me free- dom but coach me at the same time and teach me." Langford currently has no timeta- ble for a decision, and he's expected to take an official visit to Michigan before he does. CLASS OF 2016 PLEDGE JON TESKE UPDATE The 6-11 Medina (Ohio) High standout scored a career-high 28 points in his best game of the year Feb. 7, a 68-62 loss to division leader Garfield Heights (16-2). "I'm really proud of our kids," Medina coach Chris Hassinger told The Medina Gazette. "They just played basketball and had a lot of good chances to win the game. That's all you can ask for." The Bees (8-8 overall, 1-5 in con- ference play) lost for just the second time in their last six games, and they also showed improvement from a 59-37 loss to the division-leading Bulldogs earlier in the year. The Gazette reported that Teske hit three triples in the win while add- ing 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocks. "Some people come up to me and say he's not that good because he doesn't score a lot," Hassinger said. "They don't see the competition we play. His confidence, his strength, his ability to take over games is getting a lot better." Teske erupted for 17 of his team's 41 points and added five rebounds in a 41-40 upset victory over Bruns- wick Jan. 31, revenge for a 56-38 loss Dec. 23. "This was a great team win," Teske said. "We wanted to show everyone that we can compete with the best teams out there. I'm glad we got the win." Teske scored 12 points in an 88-62 win over Strongsville Feb. 6 and an- other 12 in a 64-55 victory over Hud- son Feb. 10. He is averaging 11.2 points per game. CLASS OF 2016 NOTES • Gladstone (N.J.)
