QUOTABLE Jim Harbaugh's Comments: "An- drew's work ethic and drive is what makes him a special young man. He is a great competitor, a tremendous teammate and someone who has in- credible passion for everything he is involved with. As his parents told me, Andrew has always overcome obsta- cles in his life simply 'by outworking everyone and everything in his way.' "As it became clear when meeting with Andrew, he is truly a people per- son who really enjoys building rela- tionships with those he is fortunate to come across. Andrew is a natural leader who takes pride in seeing his teammates succeed in all aspects of life, on and off the field. He is an ex- tremely confident young man, but a very humble one first and foremost — which endears him to many of his teammates and classmates as well. He also happens to be a great athlete who was blessed with a tremendous ability to kick a football." Tom Lemming of Prep Football Re- port: "A lot of people don't talk about kickers, but this kid comes from a power program in Massillon, and he's accomplished a lot during the course of his career. Michigan needs a kicker, and he should be able to step in right away." Why David Chose Michigan: "The tradition and the family atmosphere is special at Michigan. I wanted the chance to be a Michigan Man, and that's something that I'll always be." Coach's Comments: "As a defensive coach, it was great knowing that the other team had to go 80 yards to score every time we kicked off," assistant coach Dan Hackenbracht said. "On the other side of the ball, it was nice knowing that basically anytime we crossed midfield we had a chance to put points on the board. Andrew is just a great student, athlete and per- son."
