4 Issue 72 / 2015 GUESTLIST guestlist.net Newsflash Mugabe falls, INterNet respoNds Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe fell on some steps at Harare airport and a meme was born. Many press photographers who had gathered to hear Mugabe speak claim that they were forced to delete their images by security personnel. However Mugabe's camp didn't move fast enough – the pictures spread to the Internet and have now become a series of glorious memes. #MugabeFalls truly is modern art. breakINg bad's walt Jr Is lauNchINg hIs dJ career RJ Mitte, aka Walt Jr, will play at a 'Breaking Beats' night in New York this April RJ Mitte is turning his hand to the decks, launching his DJ career at event called 'Breaking Beats'. Yep, we didn't see that one coming. Here's hoping he drops 'Dance Bitch', Tom Neville and Zen Freeman's house track that features Jesse Pinkman himself. MaN too busy textINg MIsses aMazINg whale sIghtINg In a damning sign of the times, a man glued to his mobile misses a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see a humpback whale up close The unidentified man was sailing off the coast of California but only had eyes for his phone, oblivious to the fact that the rare animal had surfaced just feet from his boat. Epic fail. Fortunately LA photographer Eric Smith managed to capture both the whale and the idiot. 2 chaINz destroys us talk show host NaNcy grace oN the Issue of caNNabIs legalIsatIoN It's odd to think of 2 Chainz as an advocate for anything other than True Religion Jeans and big butts, but the Atlanta rapper has now taken the world by storm after appearing on US TV to debate the legalisation of everyone's favourite herb. A video of the exchange, which has gone viral, shows the rapper calmly and collectedly making several extremely valid points about cannabis, while host Nancy Grace appears to slowly lose her mind and resort to basically yelling the same point again and again. She repeatedly claims she "just doesn't know" what he's talking about, suggesting she's either slightly deaf, trying to negate his measured arguments or baked out of her fucking mind. Mostly, Grace goes for shock value over actual substance, repeatedly showing videos of children being handed joints by adults. Obviously the videos are disturbing – two year olds shouldn't be getting high. But these are countered again and again by the obvious point; it's the parent's fault, not weed. Again, Grace shrieks about how if weed were legalised they would have unlimited access to it. 2 Chainz' response is almost too funny; "I'm not sure if you realise this, but everyone has the ability to get their hands on pot right now, whether it's legal or not". Well said Mr Chainz! Disabled pensioner Alan Barnes was violently attacked outside his house in Gateshead as he was putting his bins out, suffering a broken collarbone in the process. Local beautician Katie Cutler set up an online donations page after hearing about the attack, with the intention of raising £500 so Mr Barnes could purchase new curtains and carpet. Over 28,000 donations poured in from around the world, and Alan and his family requested the donations to be stopped after the total exceeded £329,000. When asked what he planned to do with the money, Alan said "I can tell you one thing, it won't be wasted, I am always very careful with money…I just want to feel safe again. It's so much money and it's very kind. I am completely overwhelmed - that is the only way I think I can describe all this." doNatIoNs for Mugged peNsIoNer reach over £300,000 Donations made to an online fund for Alan Barnes after he was mugged are halted after the total reaches more than £329,000.
