94 FROM THE ROUGH We are currently adding a few backup heads to the rough line on my No. 2 hole, a par 5 that is 594 yards long. When we did our inven- tory of this hole I was a bit off on identifying its inadequacy with our coverage. I find myself now adding more heads then I originally thought. A few steps need to be taken to complete and fine-tune this hole. When we identify an area that will need a rough backup head, we look for the best place to tie into the pipe and run our new line to where we would like to add the new head. The tricky part is the wiring and is the most difficult part. We have three options from which to choose. We can trench back to the satellite and pull new wire to the head. We can go to the middle of the fairway where we have a splice box with a few open wires for new heads. Or the last result is to wire two heads together and both heads will run at the same time. This will only work if the head you are tying into is not on a mound or a low spot as you don't want an area too wet or too dry. Ninety-five percent of the heads on the golf course are now singled out. This was not the case when I arrived at the club. This was part of our original plan to single heads out to get better control of each head WATER MANAGEMENT Irrigation work on par 5 No. 2
