April Wilson 25
G • 5-7 • Jr.
After missing two games
due to a concussion, her
second of the season, Wil-
son was back as a starter
for the Illinois game and
played in a team-high 38
minutes. It wasn't a clean
game necessarily — seven
missed shots and had
five turnovers — but her
presence helps the Boilermakers immensely.
This season, she's shown willingness to take
big shots late, doing so against Green Bay,
Florida State and now the Illini, but they've
not fallen.
Ashley Morrissette 1
G • 5-9 • So.
Morrissette came off the
bench to score 15 against
Ohio State, but was back
in the starting lineup for
Illinois and had six. As has
often been the case this
season, Morrissette's shot
was off, missing on seven
of her 10 attempts and all
three of her three-point-
ers. A player known as a shooter in high
school, Morrissette's not found her stroke. Is
that a one-year problem? Only time can tell.
Not only this season, but the next two, the
Boilermakers need her to improve from her
range from the perimeter.
Andreona Keys 24
5-10 • G • Fr.
Keys has had to play big
minutes as a freshman,
definitely more than
what was expected at the
beginning of the season.
But injuries, particularly to
Bridget Perry, have forced
her in more frequently.
She played 26 against
the Fighting Illini, with six
rebounds and five points, but the four turn-
overs, a couple bad ones late, hurt. Still, the
good has outweighed the bad in Year 1.
Liza Clemons 23
F • 6-2 • Sr.
Clemons is battling down
the stretch of her career,
with her fourth double-
double of the Big Ten
season vs. Illinois. She had
a game-high 11 points,
but also contributed a
career-high 15 rebounds.
For a Purdue team, how-
ever, that struggles to
score, Clemons had an uncharacteristically
bad day from the line, missing four of her
seven. When a team has little margin for
error, every point matters, and Saturday
proved that once again.
Whitney Bays 32
F • 6-2 • Sr. (5)
For the first game during
the Big Ten season — and
only third time all year —
Bays was held to single
digits in both scoring
(nine) and rebounding
(five) vs. Illinois. Purdue's
issue is that it needs her
at her best, nearly all the
time, for it to be given a
good chance to win. If she's off, the Boiler-
makers suffer. Bays was solid against Ohio
State, scoring a career-high tying 27 points
on 11 of 21 from the field.

The
Starters
Hayden Hamby 10
G • 5-7 • Jr.
Hamby played 10 min-
utes against Illinois, hit-
ting a big three-pointer
at a moment when
it looked as though
Purdue would break its
losing streak. But it was
the Boilermakers' only
three-pointer, a poor
shooting afternoon
that ultimately led to the Illini comeback.
Hamby started vs. Ohio State, but was held
scoreless when both of her drive attempts
were blocked away. That's too often been
the case: A slashing player who doesn't
finish as frequently as she'd like.
Bree Horrocks 22
C • 6-5 • Fr.
Horrocks got a lot of
minutes at Ohio State,
the 15 being her season
high. It allowed her time
to put up five shots,
although she made only
one. And she had only
one rebound during that
extended period, the
low ratio perhaps being
an indicator as to why she's not in more.
Bridget Perry 13
F • 6-2 • So.
Perry's still banged up,
with the Achilles and
hamstring giving her
problems now after she
missed most of January
with a high ankle sprain.
She played only three
first-half minutes vs. Il-
linois, then toughed out
10 in the second half.
They were productive, with six points and
three rebounds, but Purdue's largely going
to shut her down in practice in an effort to
get her to the end of the season.

Torrie Thornton 4
F • 6-0 • Jr.
Thornton, who hasn't
played since the Feb. 2
Indiana game, will miss
the rest of the season
due to a broken bone
in her foot. It'll need
surgery.
