four blocks per game as a junior — but it's on the offensive end where
she's working toward improvement.

piece at a time, Ae'Rianna Harris
is working to rebuild her shooting
stroke.
It's needed a renovation. For years, the
forward hasn't looked natural, with her
body out of balance, leaning left when she
shoots from the right; pointing her toes
toward the corner rather than the basket;
pulling the ball too far behind her head;
pitching her fingers on the release; and
more.
The habits have been a hindrance to her
offensive ability. But the junior, a Purdue
commitment in the Class of 2016, is mak-
ing the moves to try to straighten it all out.
And in her first season at Lawrence North
High School — she transferred there after
spending her first two years at Ben Davis
— she's beginning to see the work pay off.
"Her shot needed almost a total rebuild,"
Lawrence North coach Chris Giffin said of
Harris, whom ESPN ranks as the 32nd-best
prospect in her class, based largely on the
strength of her defense. "… There's a lot
of moving parts and (it) isn't real fluid, but
