SCORE NEWS T he inaugural Bud Light SCORE Baja Sur 500 is the first time a SCORE Baja race will be held entirely in Baja California Sur. The race starts at the southern tip of Baja in Cabo San Lucas, and ends in Loreto, located on the east side of the Baja peninsula. "This is an exciting addition to the 2015 SCORE racing schedule, and gives teams another great long-distance race to challenge themselves and their vehicles," says Roger Norman, CEO President of SCORE International. . "The race also allows teams to build additional points to put towards a championship season, so it's going to be worthwhile for many to participate." The Bud Light SCORE Baja Sur 500 takes place April 16 through the 19 and will test the driver's skills and vehicles around beautiful scenery near the Sea of Cortez. All Pro classes of Trucks, Buggies, and UTV's will be running this event. Also, Pro Moto and Pro Quad classes and Sportsman Moto and Quad classes will compete. Entries are now open and intense competition is expected in each class. The weekend events open with the Monster Energy SCORE Baja Sur 500 party in Cabo on Wednesday night, April 15th, at The Office on the Beach on Playa El Medano. This will be the place to relax after traveling and enjoying an evening of fun and entertainment before preparations for the race. Everyone is welcome to attend. Registration days are April 16th and 17th in Cabo. Registration on the 16th ends with the Bud Light SCORE Kick-Off Party at Casa Dorada from 7pm to midnight. This is where all teams and sponsors are invited to come and celebrate one last time before things start to get serious. Contingency row will also be one of the highlights of this event. Beginning Friday April 17th at 10 am at Yenecamu Fields, sponsor booths will line contingency row while teams and their vehicles proceed through contingency and the technical inspection area. This is the ideal time for spectators to view their favorite race vehicles up close, and get opportunities to meet with drivers and icons in SCORE racing. Aside from the actual race, Contingency is one of the most popular events during a SCORE race. Crowds fill this area from the time it begins, and can gather swag and autographs from their favorite drivers who are always present to meet with fans. The race begins Saturday April 18th at the Yenecamu Fields Cabo San Lucas wash. It ends at the Malecon in Loreto. Official race results will be posted Sunday April 19th, followed by the awards celebration on the main boardwalk in Loreto. With an exciting new race ahead, the inaugural Bud Light San Felipe 500 will be a race that may help determine which team will have a chance for a 2015 championship season.
