hands hurt like hell. After that
it loosened up a little bit and
we were able to push hard."
Trailing the number 5 truck
of Clyde Stacy, Vildosola
passed them as they pitted
near Morelia Junction. This
put Vildosola approximately
three seconds in front of B.J.
Baldwin who seemed to be
easily catching up with people
with a more powerful engine,
and was preparing to close the
gap between he and Vildosola.
"We started in the back and
I got it into a position where
it could have been a really
good vehicular fist fight with
Tavo (Gus Vildosola, Jr.) and
possibly win this thing," said
Baldwin. "Tavo had a great
run and I was trying as hard
as I could to keep up with
him. For about 30 to 40 miles
I was within six seconds of
him on corrected time but I
blew a corner, hit a big bush
and got a stick flat. After that
there was no way I could
make up the time in the 60
miles remaining, so I backed
it down and cruised it home."
Baldwin finished in second
place with a time of 4:06:27
averaging 63.11mph in the
number 97 Monster Energy
Baldwin Motorsports Chevy
Silverado. Mexico's Carlos
"Apdaly" Lopez, finished
third overall in the SCORE
Unlimited Trophy Truck class
with a time of 4:14:01. SJ
WINDY CONDITIONS AND
A NEW STEERING BOX
MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR
VILDOSOLA JR. (TAVO) TO
CONTROL THE UNLIMITED
TROPHY TRUCK, BUT
HE MANAGED TO HANG
ON AND TURN IT INTO A
HISTORICAL WIN FOR HIM
AND HIS TEAMMATES.
