SJ: How did you end up with the Galindo Motorsports team? Armin Schwarz: I've always had a good relationship with Steven. Last year when I saw that things did not go that well, and Martin (Christensen) was getting tired of racing, I started researching and talking to other drivers. Art Eugenio asked me if I had thought about driving with Steven. I looked around and what I saw from Steven and the team I realized it was the best opportunity I could have. SJ: Do you and Steven get along well? Schwarz: Yes, very well. There is talking, preparing and racing. Right now we are preparing, and we are not yet fully prepared for the racing yet. We have not yet completed all of our sponsor talks. The truck sponsors and paint might change for the next race. When we decided to team up, the time to the San Felipe 250 was so short. I have my sponsors and after Steven won the championship a lot of new sponsors were talking to him also. We didn't know what the truck was going to look like, the colors and the sponsor stickers - we will find out tomorrow probably. Everything was so short and close, but never the less we have a great prep on the truck. Technically it is very well prepared. The rest of the items will come together before the next race. SJ: Have you had enough time to prepare and are you ready to go with a new team? Schwarz: I am ready to go with the new team because for me it is always a big pleasure to meet new people, learning new ways to do things and bringing my input and experience. The main aim is to win races. I have two and a half difficult years behind me, and thanks to good relations most of my sponsors have stayed on board. But a few of the sponsors want to see a result before they commit any further. Being with the team and driver that won the championship in 2014 is a good start, but of course you are only as good as your last result. I've known this for 30 years now, and in rally you are only as good as your last stage. Schwarz's former team, AGM, shunned the conventional Trophy Truck wisdom and went for a smaller, lighter truck than most OBVIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PROBLEMS DURING THE SCORE SAN FELIPE 250, STEVEN EUGENIO IS STILL OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE REST OF THE SEASON AND TEAMING UP WITH SCHWARZ. "The fuel was on the ground and the spray got to the brakes. It didn't seem to be the whole truck was engulfed in flames so it was just the back end of the truck. My reaction was to get out of the way." - Steven Eugenio MATT KARTOZIAN 032 SCORE JOURNAL 29TH BUD LIGHT SCORE SAN FELIPE 250 RECAP
