SCORE NEWS 4WHEEL PARTS HOSTS A SNEAK PEAK OF NISSAN'S 2016 TITAN XD SCORE fans were invited to 4 Wheel Part's Compton, California store on January 17th, to see the all new 2016 Nissan Titan XD Pro4X pickup, equipped with a Cummins 5.0 Liter V8. The event was part of Nissan's unveiling and had selected 4 Wheel Parts as the debut venue to introduce the new Titan to the public on this side of the country. "We are appreciative to Nissan for selecting 4 Wheel Parts as the location to publicly introduce this very important vehicle to the West Coast," said Dan Mickelsen, 4 Wheel Parts Director Of Marketing. "This is a tremendous opportunity for us to share the excitement of the all new Titan with enthusiasts as we anticipate its availability later this year." Attendees at the event were eager to see the Titan's new turbo diesel engine, which makes 310 horsepower and 555 foot- pounds of torque. According to Nissan, the truck is positioned in the market with more capability than a 1/2-ton Ford or Chevrolet pickup in its class. Although the 2016 Nissan XD is a heavier duty version of the standard Titan pickup, it is not a 3/4-ton model. With the 5.0-liter V8 Cummins turbo engine however, this heavier duty pickup can tow up to 12,000 pounds and has a payload capacity of 2,000 pounds. The truck has a 151.6-inch wheelbase, which is approximately 20 inches longer than non-XD TITAN models. Nissan also had to upgrade the Titan's suspension and utilized the standard double- wishbone, but it is reinforced for heavy-duty use and features twin- tube shock absorbers. The rear uses heavy-duty leaf springs and bushings and hydraulic cab mounts help isolate road vibrations. The XD will come with 17-inch wheels as standard, but will also be available with 18 and 20 inch aluminum alloy wheels.
