"It feels good
to be one of
the youngest
people racing
in SCORE. I
have a lot of
time to get
to where my
dream is."
- Tony Gera
ironman is that I can run my own
race and get as much seat time as
possible. The worst part about it is
there's no way to get off the bike!"
At the 2014 SCORE Baja 1000,
Gera didn't get a chance to pre-
run the start of the course and hit
an unexpected sharp 90 degree
corner at mile 10. He laid the bike
out right smack into a cement
wall on the outside of the turn
and suffered a broken wrist on his
throttle hand. Within 30 seconds,
Gera was back on his back bike
and toughed it out 700 miles
before he was forced to quit after
his family was involved in a rollover
accident. He had made it half way
through the night with a couple of
flashlights duct taped to his helmet.
