April Wilson 25
G • 5-7 • Jr.
Although it came in a
blowout loss at Michigan,
a game in which she came
off the bench, Wilson was
excellent statistically, with
16 points, eight assists
and seven rebounds, with
only two turnovers. When
her offense is clicking,
she gives the scoring-
challenged Boilermakers a boost. At times,
she could look for her mid-range game more
often, as she's a very good shooter from 15
feet and in.
Ashley Morrissette 1
G • 5-9 • So.
Morrissette took only five
shots against Michigan
State, tying her lowest of
the season. It was only
the fifth game this year
in which she's attempted
single-digit shots. But
Morrissette hit three
against MSU, making it
one of her more efficient
games of the season. That's an offseason
priority: Work on her offensive game, shot
making and selection, to improve the ef-
ficiency.
Bridget Perry 13
F • 6-2 • So.
Despite battling through
hamstring and Achilles'
injuries — those likely
came as a result of the
high ankle sprain that left
her out a month — Perry
is giving it her all. She's
probably playing with
more energy right now
than anyone else, a dif-
ficulty when a team is mired in a long losing
streak. When Perry's aggressive on offense,
like against Michigan State, she can be hard
to stop. Against the Spartans, she had 14
points, many driving to the hoop or setting
up for baseline jumpers.
Liza Clemons 23
F • 6-2 • Sr.
Purdue got beat up on the
boards against Michigan
State, losing on the glass
40-28, and Clemons had
only two rebounds in 39
minutes. For the Boiler-
makers to be successful,
they need Clemons and
Whitney Bays controlling
the paint. Clemons was
solid offensively, scoring 11, and she had
three blocks. But Purdue was lacking on the
glass.
Whitney Bays 32
F • 6-2 • Sr. (5)
Bays started slowly
against Michigan State,
missing contested shots
around the basket. But
she got to the line and
then started hitting jump-
ers, ending the game
with 17 points and 10
rebounds. It was her 15th
double-double of the
season, extending her own Purdue record.
If Purdue is to make any noise in the Big Ten
Tournament, it will likely be on the back
of Bays. She'll need to be at the top of her
game offensively.

The
Starters
Hayden Hamby 10
G • 5-7 • Jr.
Hamby hit a nice baseline
jumper against Michigan
State, but those were her
only points in two games
over the last week. She's
scored only five in the last
four outings. Considering
the minutes she's playing,
about 17 per game, she
needs to contribute more
offensively. She seems to be most effective
in the lane, before she gets to the basket, at
about 10 to 15 feet. But she's not consistent-
ly found shots from that range, instead go-
ing to the basket or shooting threes, neither
of which are highly effective.
Bree Horrocks 22
C • 6-5 • Fr.
Horrocks is playing more
of late, a combined 24
minutes over the last two
games. But those haven't
come with much produc-
tivity, with only two points
and two rebounds. She
could develop into an ef-
fective jump shooter from
the post, but needs more
confidence and opportunities. The offseason
will be a key, because she needs greater
strength and quickness to develop into that
kind of player.
Andreona Keys 24
5-10 • G • Fr.
Keys might be wearing
down a bit at the end of
the season, not uncom-
mon for a freshman who
has played so much in her
first year. She logged 19
minutes against Michigan
State, after having only
eight at Michigan. That
was her lowest minute
total of the season, the only time she's been
in single digits.
