After coming back from a high ankle sprain that sidelined her a month, Perry developed hamstring and Achilles tightness, perhaps because of the lack of condition- ing while she was out. Now, she'll try to get healthy. "Definitely, I need to rest for at least two weeks," Perry said af- ter the Minnesota game, in which she played 18 minutes, many of them in the post while Bays and Clemons were in foul trouble. "Just do noth- ing, which will be hard, or do something to stay off my legs. It's definitely disappoint- ing when you're not healthy at the end of the season." Despite the inju- ries, Perry averaged 9.0 points and 4.4 rebounds this season, and was playing even better right before the ankle injury vs. Maryland on Jan. 8. In three of the previous five games, she had scored at least 14, includ- ing a 19-point, 12-rebound perfor- mance in a win at Illinois. "I think this year I grew a lot as a player, especially when I was healthy," she said. "But not being healthy, it kind of puts things in per- spective. When you're healthy, you can go all out, feel like no one can stop you and you can do so much for your team. "Now, it's just getting healthy and taking what I learned this year, and from Liza and Whitney, and tak- ing that to the offseason."
