slowing Rayvonte
Rice during the
middle portion of
the game when the
Boilermakers mount-
ed their biggest
assault. Rice ended
with 25 points, but
scored only 11 in the
second half and hit
3-of-8 shots after
hitting 6 of 8 in the

Happy Senior Day In Mackey
Boilermakers shake off slow start to win
Third-grader Cooper Peludat watches Jon
Octeus' senior day tribute video on the video
board. Peludat, 9, is the son of Chris Peludat,
assistant athletic director for tickets and
marketing.
One play that may have
turned Purdue's fortunes
was when P.J. Thompson
took the ball from Jaylon
Tate with 1:55 left before
halftime. One second
later, Thompson laid the
ball in the basket to cut
the Illini margin to 26-17.
Jon Octeus drew a thunderous ovation after
being introduced to the capacity crowd. He is
pictured with mom Jacinthe Montoban (left)
and family and friends Beatrice Jean-Louis
(right middle) and Tana Curry. Octeus did
a more spontaneous "speech" as compared
to classmate Neal Beshears, who read from
notes.
