Guestlist Recommends maRk system 36 Issue 73 / 2015 DNB guestlist.net cybeRfunk @ fiRe Celebrate Cyberfunk on March 28th With his debut album Final Approach on Exit Records due to drop, Mark System unveiled a sick promo mix. Starting off ambient, and moving into the deeper, darker side of the spectrum, the mix is a journey in itself, and perfectly showcases his skills. North Londoner Mark System graced the capital's club and radio scene as a young MC. After years of hard work and graft, System turned to production with early releases on Future Thinkin records and then onto the seminal Digital Soundboy Recordings where Shy FX saw his potential. DJing and producing is where his passion lies, and with the knowledge and experience that he has gained earning his stripes around clubland, System has what it takes to create a stunning album. To celebrate the launch of Cyberfunk, the brand new record label started by DnB artist Xtrah, a stellar line-up of some of the scene's finest DJs will come together at Fire to showcase what the label has to offer. Expect some of the finest DnB you'll ever hear from the likes of bass legend Dillinja, Break, Skeptical and label main man Xtrah. MC's DRS, GQ, SP:MC and Visionobi are also on hand to get the party started, and Revolt are hosting the lounge. True DnB heads won't want to miss this one. album of the month bRoken audio - musical cuRRency Volume 3 Broken Audio present the latest offering in the Musical Currency series Broken Audio kicked off the doors in drum and bass around 2009 digging deeper into the sound that we love. The latest offering from the Broken Audio crew is the 3rd in the series of Musical Currency, a limited edition LP with a twist. The USP of this album is that it's not a CD or just a digitally downloadable bundle to sit on your hard drive but a physical tangible product! No not a vinyl, but a very sleek and well branded USB credit card that contains 12 straight bangers carefully selected by Tony and Craig. The cuts are raw and bass heavy - different to the uplifting offering on Volume 2 – and they take you back to the foundations of the label. The only catch with this LP is that it's a limited edition product with only 100 physical units available. This one is a must-have for any serious DnB collector. Full props to the label for thinking outside the box – Musical Currency Volume 3 looks slick and the quality of the music is insane. The line-up of artists that showcases the label's multiple layers of musical styles across the spectrum of real deal drum and bass music. Broken Audio is a label that will continue to find new and exciting artists, and deliver quality music. We can't wait to see what else they have up their sleeves.
