This diving board was to be installed on the side of the boat instead of the stern and this boat also has carpet with no aluminum splash skin so we could easily see the cross members below. Again, the first step in the install is to make sure the board will lay flush when not in use. Note how the frame is inside the boat, while the actual board is on the out- side of the gate. Once in place, Corey drills the holes using a 9/64 bit as a pilot hole. After removing the frame, more pilot holes are drilled to mark the location. The bracket shown here will actually be on the other side of the deck. Using a yard stick, Corey first measured the distance of his hole so he can easily put the bracket in place from out- side the rub rail on boats with or without a splash skin. The bracket is then relo- cated below deck and two bolts from the top secure it. When doing this type of an install it is recommended that you stagger a cross member with your bracket if possible for added strength. On this particular boat the cross mem- bers were on 24-inch centers so it wasn't possible, yet still not a problem. The staggering is just a recommendation. A great feature of this design is the clean look when the diving board is not in use. If you want to remove it for the day or if the boat is ever sold without the board, the marks in the carpet are minimal. Using the eye bolts, the frame is secured to the deck and again, it can be easily removed when not needed. Corey positions the handrail and double checks the security of the diving board. By simply placing a pin above the shock, the board easily transforms from the down position to the "let's have some fun" position. After the install, Corey tests the diving board. During the Minneapolis Boat Show he stopped the crowds often by standing on the board like this just to get a reaction. We're not the only ones who think the LilliPad Diving Board is a great product. At the Miami International Boat Show in Feb- ruary it received the coveted 2015 Innovation Award. With the show doors set to open, the two installs were now complete and ready to steal some attention. The LilliPad provides an energy-canceling diving board specifi- cally designed for mounting on a boat. The downward forces generated by a person jumping on the end of the board are "canceled" by equal and opposite forces within its frame- work. The result is a spring-action for the jumper and a gentle 2 3 5 6 7 4 11 9 10 8
