The total tax bill for 2015 will be $35 million. The increase means an average of $25 more for a $250,000 residential property. Council opted to keep the 2014 tax rate but ben- efitted from a 1.2 per cent increase in property values over last year along with the additional $354,000 in real growth over last year. The higher budget can be accounted for in a number of increases across the board includ- ing wages and salaries, ambulance services, more capital funding for infrastructure and an anticipated decrease of $250,000 in provincial offences fines. The tax rate has been set at 0.00367257 for res- idential and 0.00494474 for general commercial.
