BASKETBALL RECRUITING U‑M, North Carolina State, Cal, USC and Arizona State are the teams topping his list, and Cal has made a move recently. The Golden Bears could be tough to beat, in fact, if they land his friend, Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O'Dowd 2015 power forward Ivan Rabb. Rivals.com's No. 8 senior prospect would immediately add prestige to the program. For now, however, Ramsey re‑ mains wide open. "I see a lot of the coaches here watching me — they usually tell me when they're coming — but that's not going to change my game," he said. "I'll do whatever it takes to win and always try to get the win. "Right now I'm trying to get past the summer and narrow down my list. I'll wait until after the summer and start taking officials, and Michi‑ gan will be one. I'm always trav‑ eling so location is not a problem, even though you can't beat Califor‑ nia weather. But I'm willing to go anywhere." Also in Hampton, Detroit U‑D Je‑ suit point guard Cassius Winston (6‑0, Rivals.com's No. 24 junior na‑ tionally) electrified the gym with a sparkling performance for The Fam‑ ily team. He lived up to his lofty ranking in scoring 30 points and also dished out five assists and drained 6 of 9 triples in a 74‑63 loss to the St. Louis Eagles April 12. Winston also scored 33 points against Ramsey and California Su‑ preme in an 85‑81 win and aver‑ aged 22 points during the four‑game event. "I know we needed a win against the Eagles, and I just put all my effort in it," Winston said. "We had a slow start at first, and I was the only one going. I just tried to keep it going. I felt a lot of shots going in." Winston has a tight list of schools and has a good feel for which coaches came to see him play. Michi‑ gan, Michigan State, Marquette, Iowa State and Pittsburgh are his cur‑ rent favorites, and the two in‑state schools have been recruiting him in earnest for more than a year. "It's nice to see coaches that want Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon point guard Devearl Ramsey, who measures 5-10, 180 pounds, is Rivals.com's No. 58 junior nationally. PHOTO COURTESY RIVALS.COM
