MEN'S TENNIS (5-15, 2-7 BIG TEN) Michigan ended an eight-match losing streak with a 4-3 victory over Michigan State April 8, before beating Wisconsin 5-2 April 12 … Freshmen Runhao Hua (8-7) and Carter Lin (6-6) have proven to be U-M's top singles players in dual matches, each posting a .500 or better record through April 12 … The Wolver- ines have concluded their home-match season and will finish at Indiana April 17 and Purdue April 19 before competing in the Big Ten Tournament April 23-26 in Champaign, Ill. MEN'S TRACK & FIELD Michigan has participated in three out- door events since the end of the indoor season March 14, including a tri-meet with Virginia and California April 3-4 … Sophomore Michael Hovater captured the pole vault title at the event with a career-best mark of 15-5, while redshirt freshman Austin Benoit took first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (8:57.01) and U-M's 4x100-meter relay team crossed the finish line ahead of its competitors with a time of 40.31 seconds — the fourth- fastest clocking in program history … The Wolverines' relay team owned the fifth- fastest time in the NCAA outdoor season through April 9 . WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD No. 23 Michigan placed fourth among six teams at the Big Ten/Pac-12 Chal- lenge March 27-28, and finished second among three competitors at a tri-meet with Virginia and California April 3-4 dur- ing the early portion of its outdoor sea- son … Junior Cindy Ofilli scored an event win in the 100-meter hurdles at the race in March, clocking 13.22 seconds, while sophomore teammate Sami Michell scored a win in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-record time of 59.47 seconds … The Wolverines earned nine individual event victories at the April tri-meet: fifth-year senior Elly Miodusze- wski (hammer throw, 48.13 meters); freshman Claire Kieffer-Wright (high jump, 1.75 meters); redshirt freshman Sarah Zieve (steeplechase, 10:26.28); senior Brook Handler (1,500-meter run, 4:20.40); Ofili (100-meter dash, 11.52, and 100-meter hurdles, 13.24); junior Danielle Pfeifer (800-meter run, 2:07.72); Michell (100-meter hurdles, 13.75) and the 4x400-meter relay team (3:39.15) … The Maize and Blue will compete in the prestigious Drake Relays April 23-25 in Des Moines, Iowa. WATER POLO (15-11, 6-1 CWPA) No. 15 Michigan knocked off Brown (12- 5) and No. 20 Harvard (12-9) April 12, giv- ing it nine victories in its last 10 outings … Juniors Kelly Martin and Ali Thomason each posted six goals on the day in Princ- eton, N.J. … The Wolverines posted a six- game winning streak from March 20-April 4, including wins over No. 17 San Diego State, No. 12 Loyola Marymount and No.
