W hich school has the best combination of football and basketball coaches pres- ently? Each coach has to be able to stand on his own, and while a career was considered, it's about being the best the past few seasons. 1. Michigan State — Tom Izzo and Mark Dantonio: This season, Izzo had the Spartans in their seventh Final Four during his 20-year career, while MSU is 112-38 (.747 winning percentage) since 2012. Dantonio has led Michigan State to four straight bowl wins — including the Rose Bowl in 2013 — two straight top-five finishes nationally, and 10- win seasons in four of the past five years, accumulating a record of 53-14 (.791) since 2010. 2. Ohio State — Thad Matta and Urban Meyer: The Buckeyes were in the Final Four only four years ago and the Elite Eight in 2013. The past two years have not been as successful, but Matta still led Ohio State to the NCAA Tourna- ment. Meyer boosts the overall résumé with his incredible success in Colum- bus, leading Ohio State to the 2014 na- tional championship and a combined 38-3 record (.927) since arriving at OSU in 2012. 3. Michigan — John Beilein and Jim Harbaugh: In Beilein U-M has a coach that led the Wolverines to back-to- back Elite Eights (in 2013 and 2014) for the first time since Michigan advanced at least that deep in 1992, 1993 and 1994, while bringing the Maize and Blue within six points of the 2013 na- tional championship. Harbaugh hasn't coached in college since 2010, but capped that season with an Orange Bowl win to lead Stanford to a 12-1 record. In four sea- sons with the San Francisco 49ers, he reached a Super Bowl and had two additional appearances in the NFC Championship Game. 4. Arizona — Sean Miller and Rich Rodriguez: In Miller's six seasons, Ari- zona has advanced to four Sweet 16s and three Elite Eights, reaching the NCAA quarterfinals each of the past two seasons. Overall, Miller has a .758 winning percentage with the Wildcats.
