COMMITMENT PROFILE Avon (Ind.) High quarterback Brandon Peters was preparing for back-to-back-to-back visits to Michi- gan, Nebraska and LSU heading into Eas- ter weekend, but after his trip to Ann Arbor his situation changed. The four-star Peters is considered the No. 5 pro-style quarterback in the country by Ri- vals.com, so getting him on campus for the Spring Game was big for the Michigan staff. Within hours of arriv- ing in Ann Arbor, he had seen enough. "I felt like I was go- ing to go in with an open mind, but then about a week before I was going to Michigan I felt like I was ready," he explained. "I had never been there before but it just seemed right. "When we got there I got to see the facilities a little bit. Coach [Jim] Har- baugh, my family, and Coach [Jedd] Fisch and I all went out to dinner. We talked about a lot of stuff. "They told me about how impor- tant I was to this class, and that's when I knew that Michigan was the place for me. I was ready." Before Peters ever saw what a Sat- urday inside The Big House looked like, he knew that he wanted to wear that winged helmet. Once the spring game was about to start, it just solidi- fied his decision. "It was awesome," he exclaimed. "I have never seen a stadium like that or that big. It was completely awe- some. There was a ton of people there, but it still was empty basi- cally. That was crazy to think about. I can't wait to see it filled up. I'm going to come back for a few games, and that will be a great time I'm sure." The head coach at Avon, Mark Bless, was very involved in his quarterback's recruit- ment and was a bit surprised that Peters decided when he did. His ris- ing senior signal-caller is a reserved young man, so he wasn't exactly sure how comfortable he was with Michi- gan but understands why he com- mitted when he did. "It caught me off guard that he was ready to do it that soon but not that he chose Michigan," Bless explained. "It didn't surprise me when Brandon verbaled because I know how much he respects Coach Harbaugh and the Michigan program. "I think he was going in with an open mind and just heard everything First Michigan Visit Was Enough For Brandon Peters Rivals.com rates Peters as a four-star recruit, the No. 3 pros- pect in Indiana, the No. 5 pro- style passer in the country and the No. 211 overall player in the class of 2016.
