32 INDIE / ROCK guestlist.net Issue 74 / 2015 Drenge are having quite the time of it – they've followed up their acclaimed self-titled debut with the brilliant Undertow, which was written and recorded on tour last year and which features third member Rob Graham on bass. The first single from the record, 'We Can Do What We Want', was made Hottest Record In The World on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show, and the band performed the track live on the David Letterman show in the US. Drenge have also been storming venues across the UK with their formidable live shows. Watch out for these guys. Artist Of the MOnth Drenge Brothers Rory and Eoin Loveless are tearing up the UK Three Kings High have been bubbling under the surface for the last couple of years, releasing tracks here and there, and taking their live set to as many towns and cities across the UK as possible. Now this spring, they are ready to release their first full-length feature Hail. At 12 tracks deep it is proof that the Kings are able to deliver more than just singles and EP's, and this is a true reflection of the sound that fans have been hearing at their shows. Included on the album is an extended version of 'Nothing Left To Lose'. The original track was released in September 2014, garnering strong radio play and reviews. Live show favourites 'Frienemy' and 'Blood Is Blue' bring the high tempo, sleaze-rock to the album, whilst 'Excuses, Excuses' and 'All The Best' show their maturity and diversity in song writing. Three Kings High are an amalgamation of Bristol's diverse influences with big, riff heavy guitars, anthemic choruses and indie sensibilities. Through this record, the Kings have made every effort to translate their live shows into a studio recording, ensuring the energy and impact is immediately felt. It is this live sound that has allowed the Kings to play punk nights in London, as well as soul venues in Newcastle, creating a diverse fan base. To coincide with the album release, the band is touring the UK. Catch them if you can! It's been a rather long hiatus for The Maccabees, so it's no wonder that fans snapped up tickets for their upcoming Coronet show in just one hour. The band have shared 'Marks To Prove It', the first track to come from their forthcoming fourth album, which is finished, and which Felix White has said is is "opposite to Given To The Wild in every kind of way".
