he Boilermakers aren't accus-
tomed to this.
Purdue is coming off its worst sea-
son in 30 years, having won only 11
games in 2014-15 and leaving it to
rebuild during the offseason. That
makes the next few months critical.
"I don't think anybody has ever had
a season like this, even before coming
to college," senior-to-be April Wilson
said in mid-April, toward the end of
Purdue's session of individual work-
outs. "So it's definitely an eye-open-
er. We're better than that. It's just not
acceptable, ever, especially at an elite
university like where we are."
But it's Purdue's reality now. The
Boilermakers finished 11-20 last sea-
son, with only a 3-15 last-place finish
in the Big Ten. They lost 14 of their
last 15 regular-season games, includ-
ing 10 straight to end the season, yet
recovered temporarily to win a game
in the Big Ten Tournament before
a second-round exit. They'll take a
seven-game home losing streak into
next season.

Purdue will have a couple of veterans in the backcourt — senior April Wilson and
junior Ashley Morrissette — who it will need to steer the young Boilermakers in
the right direction.
