Coach Dave Shondell sells the
opportunity of competing in the
USA collegiate national program
when he hits the recruiting circuit.
"When you're as athletic and
talented and have the résumé of
some of our players, you're going
to have the opportunity to play on
some of these USA teams," Shon-
dell said. "It's our responsibility to
send them if they're good enough
to be in contention to make one of
those teams."
Shondell will have three more
examples to share on the recruit-
ing trail after Ashley Evans, Aman-
da Neill and Azariah Stahl qualified
for the USA Volleyball High Perfor-
mance pipeline this summer.
Evans will compete on the U.S.
Collegiate National Team's Chi-
na tour roster against European
professional teams, while Stahl
and Neill will play for one of three
teams in the USA Volleyball colle-
giate national program in a round
robin tournament in New Orleans.
"It means a lot to see our names
up on that roster and to be able to
represent Purdue during the pro-
gram," Stahl said.
The trio comes with various de-
grees of national volleyball experi-
ence.
