Beilein knows this much: getting
LeVert back is a big deal, and hav-
ing seniors who have been through it
all — including reaching the NCAA
Tournament championship game as
freshman — counts for plenty. LeVert,
the head coach noted, is in position to
take charge.
"His leadership takes an even big-
ger role right now," Beilein said. "He's
got more respect than ever from his
teammates. He and Spike, there will
be no doubt who the captains are, who
the leaders are. Now they have strong
secondary leadership from Derrick
and Zak, because they've been around
Prior to suffering a season-ending broken foot midway through the 2014-15 campaign,
LeVert boasted team-high averages of 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals
per game.
