pects, but he made an early commit‑
ment to Texas A&M before the Brady
Hoke staff had much of a chance to
build a relationship, much less the new
staff under Jim Harbaugh.
Despite the early choice of the Aggies,
he has spent a bit of time exploring the

with his high school coach, Tom West‑

LB DAELIN HAYES (USC)
6-3, 251 • Ann Arbor Skyline
Five-star prospect, No. 1 recruit in Michi-
gan, and No. 5 outside linebacker and
No. 19 player nationally
Hayes is a big loss for Michigan, since
he was close to committing to the
Wolverines at the Rivals Camp Series
stop in Detroit last April, then hit the
big time with a number of major of‑
fers and committed to USC. He moved
from southeast Michigan to Southern
California, but is back in the Great Lakes
State — and as close to U‑M as ever, at
Ann Arbor's own Skyline High. He's as
solid as can be with the Trojans for now,
but if anything changes the Wolverines
would love to have him. ❏
Ann Arbor Skyline standout Daelin Hayes, Rivals.com's No. 5 outside linebacker and No. 19
overall prospect nationally, is currently pledged to USC, but was close to committing to the
Wolverines at the Rivals Camp Series stop in Detroit last April.
