Performance attributes in apparel were first brought into the T-shirt and polo categories as the demand for an alterna- tive to cotton fabrics arose when athletes needed fabrics that were lighter and more comfortable with moisture wicking. Now these performance attributes have evolved into woven shirts. You can outfit an en- tire organization, from the back office to folks who have manufacturing duties and customer-facing professionals, in perfor- mance materials. What was first brought into the retail market by the traditionally active brands is now readily available to all customers at all price levels in the promo- tional apparel industry. Look for garments that serve these pur- poses, such as performance mélange wo- ven shirts that offer a contemporary, fash- ion-forward look, or performance woven shirts that embrace active styling. In gen- eral, performance wovens are intended to suit multiple corporate images and needs, and their moisture-wicking properties are intended to keep the wearer feeling com- fortable and dry all day long. This new trend allows for an all-day professional appearance with the comfort and function that was traditionally only incorporated into performance polos or T-shirts. It's not only great during the cold seasons, but it's also excellent for the spring and fall. This fabric can be worn as a mid-layer or an outer layer, and provides warmth without too much bulk. For example, polyester fleece can act as an outer layer piece in milder winter cli- mates, or it can be thrown over a T-shirt if the wearer plans to move through dif- ferent environments. Polyester fleece also has many end uses across all types of in- dustries and events, including corporate events, trade shows, charities, teamwear, car dealerships, and retail. Furthermore, creating a corporate outfitting program is easy when you can combine different lay- ers of products and still have that image of unity among your staff through similar colors and styling.
