Growing up in Croydon, MC Flux and his associates experienced a gritty underworld of drugs, football violence and institutionalised racism, catalogued with brutal honesty over the space of 20 chapters. Retelling his story in an informal "pub banter" setting Carl "MC Flux" Thomas pulls no punches when he invites the reader to witness his struggles, which he would one day overcome to become a pivotal figure in the emerging drum & bass scene. This time it's K Jah's debut EP. K Jah has been around for a while, making a name for himself on KOOL FM Midlands back in the day as Kieran Jay. He then tried his hands at producing and quickly made his way to labels such as Ruff Neck Ting, Hazardous Muzik and Hocus Pocus. K Jah is now firmly part of the Benefit Beats Superheroes collective and will have lots more coming up on Benefit Beats in the near future. We look forward to K Jah sharing his super powers with the whole of planet Earth and the universe. The Trademark is a mix of off-the-hook tunes and focused rollers. 'Are You Ready' is a straight dancefloor banger. The bass has the right pulling notes and from there it just rolls on in true jungle 1996 to 2015 style.
