12 n Performance & Hotrod Business n July 2015 Auto Meter Acquires Palmer Performance Engineering VP Fuels TORC Series TORC: The Off-Road Championship Presented by AMSOIL short-course, off-road racing series has announced VP Racing Fuels as its official fuel for the 2015 season. "After a successful inaugural season last year, we're excited to extend our partnership with TORC and work with BJ Birtwell to continue executing his vision and growing the series," said Chris Wall, VP's chief marketing officer. "The TORC series provides a unique opportunity to build awareness for VP Racing Fuels and our growing roster of consumer products, as well as the VP-branded gas stations that are part of our retail branding initiative." As the official fuel of TORC, VP will provide trackside fuel service at each event, which will include an online pre-order procedure to provide for convenient delivery of specific fuels to teams at the track, the release noted. "TORC is thrilled to continue its partnership with VP Racing Fuels," said Birtwell, TORC Series president. "They power championship-winning race vehicles all over the world in virtually every kind of motorsport. We're looking forward to working with them to drive awareness and consideration for their products, gas stations and convenience stores." Auto Meter Products Inc. has acquired Palmer Performance Engineering Inc. and has entered into a long- term strategic alliance with Brian Palmer and the DashLogic development team. With the acquisition, Auto Meter will add the award- winning DashCommand app that can turn any iOS or Android smartphone or tablet into a fully customized dashboard and diagnostic tool to its instrumentation product line, according to a press release. Auto Meter also acquired the ScanXL and ScanXL Pro diagnostic scan tools, which will be added to its test equipment product range. "We are honored to add the Palmer Performance Engineering business to our product and technology lineup," said Jeffrey G. King, Auto Meter president and CEO. "Brian Palmer and his engineering team have developed some very exciting technology and products that fully complement Auto Meter's instrumentation and automotive test equipment businesses. We are excited to help take these products to the next level of sophistication and market exposure." Auto Meter also added the award-winning DashLogic display controller to its instrumentation business and technology portfolio. The product range enables automotive enthusiasts to customize/repurpose existing dashboard displays on their vehicle with a plug-and-play module that allows the consumer to display an expanded range of vehicle and engine readings, according to the company. "I am very proud of the products that we have developed at Palmer and am confident that under Auto Meter's guidance and support they will grow," said Palmer, president and CEO of Palmer Performance Engineering. "Auto Meter was the perfect partner for us to choose to help take our product and technology platform to the next level. YENKO Agreement Reached General Marketing Capital Inc. has entered into a final agreement with the estate of Donald Frank Yenko regarding ownership and use of various YENKO and sYc trademarks. Under the terms of the agreement, the Donald Yenko Estate has acknowledged and agreed that GMCI is the lawful owner of the YENKO and sYc trademarks alone and in combination with related logos and designs, including various federally registered trademarks for automobiles, automotive products, clothing and other forms of memorabilia, according to a press release. Additionally, as part of the agreement, the Donald Yenko Estate has confirmed that it does not object to GMCI's licensing of Specialty Vehicles Engineering (SVE) of Toms River, New Jersey, as the sole manufacturer and purveyor of new 2015 YENKO Chevrolet Camaro vehicles, the release added. The agreement also confirms that SVE is the only officially licensed source for new 2015 YENKO Camaros. "We are extremely pleased to have reached an agreement with the estate of Donald Yenko. The 427 supercharged 2015 YENKO Camaro built and marketed by SVE serves not only as a fitting tribute to the legendary muscle cars of the 1960s, but also as the benchmark for a new generation of muscle car design and innovation," said Ray Yager, GMCI's executive vice president. "These limited edition, collectable cars are truly remarkable." Introduced at the 2014 SEMA Show, the 2015 Yenko Camaro by SVE features a 700-hp supercharged Chevrolet 427 engine, a special patented fiberglass hood, Yenko side stripes and hood graphics, sYc upholstery and many other unique features, according to the release. Only 50 will be produced.
