Where to Start To get started, Shepard and Williams outline some hot new product offerings. "Our bolt-in Crate Rear End and 4x4 Rear End product lines have become increasingly popular with consumers and shops," Shepard explains. "We have over 30 applications of stock spec, completely bolt-in rear ends for Ford and GM classic and muscle cars as well as Jeeps and modern trucks. They are hot because they are easy. We have all of the details figured out on our end, so the product can just be unboxed and installed, either by a consumer or an installation shop." Williams references those bigger-sized pieces for hardcore drag racing. "(Among the hottest products Mark Williams offers are) 9-1/2- and 10-inch complete third member assemblies for Pro Mods and Pro Stocks." So, it looks like, once again, the old timers have hit the nail on the head. Only this time, another old saying can pertain to information on performance rear ends: "There's more than one way to skin a cat." Rear ends are a system many consumers are unwilling or unable to tackle themselves, creating opportunities for professional shops with the right knowl- edge and proper relationships.
