42 INDIE / ROCK guestlist.net Issue 76 / 2015 Mod legend Paul Weller, who recently celebrated his 57th birthday, released Saturns Pattern earlier this month, his 12th LP since 1992, and he still has the sound that makes him so special. Saturns Pattern is more than a simple dive into pop-rock. The production is excellent and every element that makes Weller unique is there. The record is a melting-pot of psychedelic ballads mixed with garage-rock sounds, the guitars are strummed with power. Space- music sounds are also continuously present on this ear bashing LP that will rock you all summer long. Catch him at Barclaycard British Summer Time on June 26th. Artist Of the MOnth PAul Weller The Modfather has most definitely still got it Hailing from Brisbane, Dominic Haddad on lead vocals, brothers Ted and Louis Tillbrook on guitar and drums, and Campbell Smith on bass, formed Millions back in 2011. The group have already achieved success in their native Australia, sharing stages with the likes of Peace, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and San Cisco, and performing at Splendour in The Grass, Falls Festival and Big Day Out. Glenn Tillbrook, the father of Ted and Louis, and founder member of 1980s hitmakers Squeeze, produced the UK version of the Millions EP in his Greenwich studio. Whilst recording, the boys played a select few UK shows, including a dream supporting slot for Babyshambles. The EP's lead track 'Nineteen' is a slice of stomping indie pop that received wide airplay in Australia, receiving high rotation on national station Triple J and being awarded Ripe Clip Of The Week by Channel V, whilst 'Clementine' has frenetic guitar work, and divine vocal harmonies topped off with Dominic's velvety vocals. Keep an eye out for these guys because they are well worth seeing live. Following the release of their long-awaited new album The Magic Whip back in April, fans can finally catch them live again as they headline Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time. Blur are the only band to play Hyde Park four times, and fans going to be in for a treat as they'll get both new material and the old classics. With support from Metronomy, The Horrors, Jupiter & Okwess International, Drenge, Roots Manuva, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, Hanni El Khatib, Iris gold, Fufanu and Sugarmen, this is going to be one mega show!
