Golden Tate — It didn't take Tate any time to adjust to a new organization. Months after helping the Seattle Seahawks earn a Super Bowl victory, Tate had the best season (99 catches for 1,331 yards and four TD) of his NFL career with the pass-happy Detroit Lions in 2014. He is the perfect threat opposite of Calvin Johnson, and defenses struggled to cover both last season. 2. Harrison Smith — Smith, who made 93 tackles in 2014, continues to impress in his NFL career after rapidly improving during his time with the Irish. In 2013, players began calling Smith the NFL's hardest hitter, but it's not only strength and toughness he brings to the table. He has developed into one of the league's top defensive playmakers, having recorded 10 interceptions and three touchdowns the past three seasons. 3. John Sullivan — It's no secret that offensive linemen rarely get the recognition they deserve, but Sullivan is a rare stabilizing force on a Minnesota Vikings team that has struggled in recent seasons. In only two of his seven NFL seasons has he missed a game due to injury, and he's been an important blocker for running back Adrian Peterson during that time. 4. Zack Martin — It might seem premature to place someone with only one year of NFL experience on this list, but Martin certainly earned it during his rookie campaign. Cowboys fans, who were tempted by the prospect of drafting quarterback Johnny Manziel in 2014 are grateful to have Martin on the squad. 5. Michael Floyd — Floyd took a step back in his third NFL season, but still produced strong numbers — 47 receptions for 841 yards and six touchdowns. A monster season is on the horizon, and it could very well come in 2015. In his first season with the Lions, wide receiver Golden Tate hauled in 99 receptions for 1,331 yards and four scores.
