Additionally, it hosts one of America's largest all-documentary film festivals. And, in the name of community, the theater sets aside 25 cents from each admission ticket sold to be put toward its grants program, which supports nonprofit organizations that enrich the city's culture and economy. In terms of its films, most are shown on digital cinema through Sony 4k projectors, and the independent films and documentaries for which it is best known are increasingly being presented in high definition from Blu-ray discs. Also to CinemaSalem's credit are great blog reviews that inform readers of rather obscure titles that shouldn't, but often do, go unseen.
