A Stone's Throw Imagine a small, close-knit town that's got an abundance of open space, a town where you could get happily lost on miles of hiking trails or enjoy a day paddling around a clear and sparkling pond. Would it also make sense that this town is just 10 miles away from a busy, buzzing metropolis, or that you could find a world's worth of cuisine for dinner, or that you could take in an evening of musical theatre and visit a charming 110-year-old zoo over the weekend? Audience Feedback Wow! What a terrific story you wrote about Stoneham [July 2015, "A Stone's Throw," page 26]. I came home to my own copy Friday night, and then went in early Saturday to make sure it got into as many Stoneham hands as possible. I know I'm a little biased, but I do believe this town is ready to bloom. You captured so much of the positive potential of this community. Thank you again for all your talents and efforts! Send it to: editor@ nshoremag.com or visit us at nshoremag.com In the July issue's story about Salem Willows Park, "Golden Days" (page 68), we incorrectly stated that the Central House no longer exists. It does indeed remain standing and is inhabited. corrections You love WHIM! 300+ of our Twitter followers couldn't wait to see the lineup, and 70+ of you liked our WHIM Facebook post: Smolak Farms Announces the 2015 Whim Dinner Series Lineup http://ow.ly/NvyZu. photograph by Robert Boyd
