How to Bootstrap,
Target Right Investors
3D Printing Your Idea
Into Startup Reality
Are you interested in bootstrapping your business but don't
have a huge capital reserve? Learn how StyleSeat bootstrapped
for the first year and a half before eventually raising $14 mil-
lion in investment and becoming the largest marketplace in the
beauty industry.
This session will discuss how to set and achieve the right goals
during the bootstrapping process, avoiding popular pitfalls
during the process, how to decide if you should take financing
and how to determine best timing.
This session will also cover how to run an investment process,
as well as best practices for working with advisors and critical
factors for success.
Formlabs designs and manufactures powerful, intuitive and af-
fordable 3D printing systems for engineers, designers, and art-
ists, establishing a new benchmark in professional desktop 3D
printing. Founded by a team from the MIT Media Lab, Formlabs
made history when it launched a record-breaking $3M Kickstarter
campaign. Its 3D printing technologies have powered the proto-
types and designs of a range of ambitions—from medical devices
in the operating room, wearables, wireless headphones, to the
world's first 3D-printed animated film. Whether it's to rapidly and
cheaply make a working, high-quality prototype to creating a
film from 2,500 printed parts, inventors and entrepreneurs have
found creative uses of 3D printing to launch their business ideas.
Drawing from Formlabs' many stories over the years, Colin Raney
will share ideas with startups at V2V on how to turn their ideas
into startup reality through professional desktop 3D printing.
