SCORE NEWS EUGENIO AND SCHWARZ WIN 2015 DAKAR CHALLENGE The 47th Bud Light SCORE Baja 500 was one of the official races of the 2015 Dakar Challenge, which gives opportunities for racers to win an entry into the 2016 Dakar Rally. The team of Steven Eugenio and Armin Schwarz won the challenge among the 216 eligible competitors of the SCORE Baja 500. Eugenio and Schwarz will receive free participation (sports dues for the driver, co-driver, and race vehicle) in the Dakar 2016 Rally, as well as return sea transport, limited catering, GPS tracking and more. The 2016 Dakar Rally will take place in Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina, and is an annual rally style off-road race, organized by Amaury Sport Organization (A.S.O.). The Dakar Rally began in 1978 as a race from Paris to Dakar, Senegal. In 2009, the Rally started and finished in Argentina, and traveled across various parts of South America covering a distance of more than 3,000 miles over a two-week period. Eugenio and Schwarz will join previous SCORE racers who have participated in the Dakar Rally that include, Robby Gordon, Larry Ragland, Mark Miller, B.J. Baldwin, Daniel McMillin and Andy Grider, that have competed in car/truck categories. Johnny Campbell, Kurt Caselli, Quinn Cody, Jonah Street and Chris Blais also competed in the Dakar Rally in motorcycles/ ATV categories. For more information on the Dakar Rally, visit www.dakar.com.
