SCORE NEWS CONTINGENCY WATCH SCORE Contingency Sponsors continue to provide racers with additional opportunities to help support their racing programs. Before the 47th Annual Bud Light SCORE Baja 500, several new sponsors posted contingency programs to assist racers. These include Outlaw LED, who is o ering $150 in credit towards Outlaw LED products for first place finishers in all four-wheel classes. Racer X Motorsports is o ering $50 in product available in all SCORE classes for first place finishers, and $25 in product to last place finishers in all classes. Rancho Driveline Engineering is o ering $500 in labor towards transmission repairs for first place finishes in Unlimited Trophy Truck, Trophy Truck Spec, Stock Full, Pro Truck, JeepSpeed Cup and 4400 Classes. Tough Light LED is o ering store credit for one LED lightbar up to 30-inches in length, for first place finishers in 1600 and 7SX classes. NEWS JACKSON MOTORSPORTS GROUP UNVEILS BFGOODRICH® KR2 UTV TIRE Jackson Motorsports Group launched the new BFGoodrich® Baja T/A® KR2 UTV tire at the 47th Annual Bud Light SCORE Baja 500 in Baja California, Mexico. The tire features many of the same performance characteristics and features as the KR2 tires used on other SCORE racing vehicles but is designed specifically for UTVs. "We're thrilled to partner with BFGoodrich Tires to launch their first UTV-specific tire," said Todd Steen, executive Director of Sales for JMG. According to Steen, Jackson Motorsports asked BFGoodrich® to develop a lightweight and durable, UTV-specific tire specific for UTV racing. The BFGoodrich® Baja T/A® KR2 UTV Tire features BFG's CoreGard™ technology to resist punctures, and is available in a 30-inch diameter size that provides a better footprint and is a size that UTV racers want to use in competition. In addition, the tire o ers superior performance and increased mobility in soft soils, enhanced traction in mud, and improved braking in loose and rocky soil. "Our BFGoodrich race tire engineers have been able to design the tire so it meets various specifications while maintaining the toughness and performance needed in the desert," says Chris Baker, BFGoodrich® Racing Director.
