www.pdbmagazine.com PDB Pontoon & Deck Boat AUGUST 2015 38 It should come as no surprise that behind great companies are great employees. This rings true of some of the finest names in boat manu- facturing today. We at Pontoon & Deck Boat magazine are proud to highlight some of the great employ- ees who have been bringing quality craftsmanship, hard work, and ethics with them to work for so many years in the boating industry. Employees who love what they do BY GEORGINA DIBBLE Brothers Raymond Smith, Jr. and John Smith joined the Harris company over 30 years ago and have worked on about every facet of a pontoon boat from fence and warehouse to the final quality check. Interestingly, they have worked at Har- ris Boats long enough to know the Harris family who started the company. While both brothers currently work in differ- ent departments, both exemplify the model employee, who not only is a hard worker, but contributes to the legacy of a company. "Being part of one of the original pontoon manufacturing companies in the world means that the company's legacy isn't just limited to the boats—it's also the employees that built that legacy, which Ray and John know more about than most," says Jane C. Schlegel, marketing manager at Harris Boats. Company: Premier Marine, Inc. Company: Harris Boats Names: Raymond Smith, Jr. and John Smith Name: Leila Fenton Leila Fenton is celebrating 15 years with Premier. Coincidentally enough, her 15-year anniversary fell on 5-15-15. She has served in many positions within the company including final produc- tion supervisor, quality assurance, and her current position as supervisor of Premier's furniture prep facility in North Branch, Minn. Leila's positive, get-it-done attitude has made her an invaluable employee and coworker.
