25 Issue 77 / 2015 HOUSE/ TECHNO guestlist.net INTErvIEw ShaNE waTcha Interviewed by: Joe Le Groove We caught up with the man behind the highly successful Zombie Soundsystem parties and label, ahead of his appearance at Sunscape Festival 2015 What have you been up to so far in 2015? We started the year with the launch of our new label Made With Love, pushing a far more uplifting vocal house vibe compared to the underground sounds of Zombie Soundsystem. So far we're moving along nicely with 3 releases out from Fra P, Nicco & Alex Bizzaro. The Zombie imprint is still going strong with 3 new EP's out already this year plus we signed a bunch of new artists. Personally myself I've had my head down in the studio working on tracks for the new album which should be out end of the year. I've remixed a bunch of tracks and also some original material for Stark Future recordings which is out now. As well as your Zombies events your label has been pushing out some cool stuff, what plans have you got for the future of both your babies? Zombies is a pretty well oiled machine now with a monthly release schedule and heading into our 20th release. Coming up we have signed a bunch of new artists with EP's coming from Volta Cab, Spatial Awareness, Ashley Casselle and Desta. We're also putting out our first artist album this year from Jay Tripwire. Jay is a phenomenal producer and the album is really something else so we're pretty excited about that coming out end of summer! You are part of a handful of people that are playing again at Sunscape Festival on 3rd July, tell us about the vibe and your experience? Yeah really excited to be back again and feel like part of the family now! It's more party than business with the Sunscape crew, we're good friends … so this makes it extra special. Sunscape is also such a unique festival set in a such a magical location that you are guaranteed to be blown away. How would you sum up Malta as a whole? Malta is really an interesting place and as a party destination. Just the bomb. A truly epic island. I might move there one day! What else have you got going on? Straight after the festival I am back on the road with a string of dates around Europe for a couple of months. After that, visiting Russia and then back to London in October for our annual Zombie Halloween event. Although I'm trying to focus as much as I can on finishing the album this year as it's been a very long time in the making. If you were banished to a desert island had to take three famous people, dead or alive with you, who would you take and why? That's easy. Adriana Lima for her company, Bob Marley for his positive vibrations, and that blondie from Game of Thrones so that she can summon her dragons when we need to get the hell out of there. "Malta is really an interesting place and as a party destination. Just the bomb. a truly epic island"
