Immediately after finishing high school in 2008, he moved from his hometown of Edmonton to Vancouver, and self-released Heat Wave, a collection of songs he wrote and recorded while bored during his school years. Another One is his fourth album and follows his 2014 breakout release, Salad Days. The vibe is still the same, a mix between indie and rock music, recorded fully solo during a gap in his relentless tour schedule at his new place in Far Rockaway, Queens. This album is bittersweet, with an overall feeling of lost love. Showing how gifted he is an artist, DeMarco fully embraces the theme without making it a sad experience for the listener; all the playfulness of classic Mac is present and correct. That's the amazing thing about him, he never gets bored and is always trying to do something new, giving everything to his fans. On that tip, following the release of a self-directed video for the title track, in which he busts out his best Michael Jackson impersonation, he encouraged his fans to upload their own cover versions, with a prize of 69 cents direct from his own bank account going to the fan with the best submission. With dreamy kaleidoscopic guitars and synths, warm layers and a falsetto vocal, Memory Maze perfectly captures the late night narcotic- edged feel of a David Fridman (Tame Impala, The Flaming Lips, MGMT) production mixed with electronics. It's pure dream-pop loveliness. tRAck of thE moNth mEmoRy mAzE - WouNDED EyES 'Wounded Eyes' gives you a taste of what to expect from Memory Maze's forthcoming debut album From The Outside In The exhibition brings together works of Bruce Fleming, Val Wilmer, Bent Rej, Dezo Hoffmann, Mike Leale and Barrie Wentzell, all of whom captured The Kinks at the beginning of their golden period from 1964 to 1968. You'll see moments from their early studios sessions to the acclaimed 1968 album Village Green Preservation Society. And here's something really amazing; some of the photos are being shown for the very first time. The show totally corresponds to current renaissance of the band - the musical Sunny Afternoon is enjoying a wonderful West End run and The Anthology box set, featuring their greatest muscial moments, has been delighting fans old and new.
