Flaherty experienced an early test for next season when she competed at the USA Basketball Women's Un- der-19 World Championship Team Trials in May. She didn't make the team but realized she belonged with the country's best. "It was good for my confidence to get out there and see that I could play at that level. Since then, I've had two more months to train and work in the gym. I think I can come back an even better player for my sophomore sea- son," she said.
