there are no columns between the panes."
As a result, the view is amazing from top
to bottom."
More questions surrounded the soccer
shop. "A lot of operators mentioned that they
wouldn't have a store because it wouldn't
do well. In North Texas, however, soccer is
very popular, and the owners of the facility
identified a need." Before Game On, there
was no soccer store within 20 miles. Now,
although many facilities sell socks and shin
guards, and some sell jerseys and shoes,
Game On provides uniforms for most of the
area's outdoor soccer clubs. Competitive
soccer in North Texas is tremendous, and
so uniforms are a huge business and a large
part of Game On.
Finally, said Chris, "Operators were
impressed with the cleanliness of the turf,
the bleachers, the bathrooms. We really
pride ourselves in making sure the place
is spotless every night." Some operators
requested the facility's closing checklist.
Most operators know that in order to
compete with facilities in your area, yours
has to be the cleanest. "People thought
we had a crew come in every night and
clean our facility, but really it's just me
and my staff."
Chris is looking forward to next year's
Conference, when he can participate in the
Tour from the other side. Even for many
facilities that may seem a lot alike, there
are little things that make a big difference.
