PEDIGREE The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame championship Stroppe Bronco returns to Baja. BY CHRIS COLLARD PHOTOS ICON MEDIA B aja, Mexico, has long been the quintessential vision of true-grit desert racing. Its pairing of serpentine mountain two-tracks, endless sandy beaches, and skinny- pedal-to-the-metal playas triggers the rush of adrenaline and evokes emotions quelled only by speed. The early days of competition brought adventure-seekers and entrepreneurs, and the steeds that faired them south toward La Paz either survived to race again, or surrendered to the brutal reality that is Baja. Characters such as Bruce RESURRECTING THE 1969 FORD BRONCO DRIVEN BY ROD HALL AT THE NORRA MEXICAN 1000 WASN'T AN EASY TASK. 046 SCORE JOURNAL
