W
hen UTVs came on
the scene, SCORE
grouped them into
the Sportsman category to allow
racers to compete and to see
how well these vehicles would fit
into the overall program. At that
time, it was a great opportunity
for people with a stock vehicle
and dreams of winning, to be
involved in the world's leading
desert race series. SCORE then
created the PRO Stock UTV
Class 19 that changed the rules
and allowed teams to be more
competitive. Since then, UTVs
have become the fastest growing
class in SCORE's recent history.
One of the main reasons
why the UTV class has grown
so quickly is due to manufac-
turer participation and their
involvement with race teams.
Manufacturers such as Polaris,
one of SCORE's official race se-
ries sponsors, benefits from team
input to improve vehicle designs
